For the project that we are working on with our partner, we are looking for Senior Database Engineer / PostgreSQL.
Your duties will include:
- Designing PostgreSQL database architecture for large-scale systems.
- Scaling databases as the number of users, queries, and data volumes grows.
- Diagnosing and resolving database performance and stability issues.
- Optimizing SQL queries, indexes, data schemas, and PostgreSQL configuration.
- Analyzing query plans, transactions, locks, and concurrency issues.
- Designing replication, partitioning, and high-availability solutions.
- Supporting the team in data modeling and secure data isolation.
- Defining database monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning.
Requirements that must be met:
- Strong hands-on knowledge of PostgreSQL.
- Experience in designing and scaling databases used in real production systems.
- Very good knowledge of SQL, query plans, indexes, transactions, and locking mechanisms.
- Ability to independently diagnose and resolve database performance issues.
- Experience with replication, partitioning, backups, and high availability.
- Knowledge of multitenancy, data isolation, and row-level security.
- Ability to work effectively with developers, DevOps engineers, and architects.
- Very good English and Polish
Nice to have:
- Experience with high-traffic or transaction-heavy systems.
- Knowledge of cloud environments, preferably GCP.
- Experience with database monitoring and observability.
- Knowledge of distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
- Familiarity with AI or agentic coding tools would be an advantage, but is not a key requirement.
